Refunds and cancellation

Monthly services

Cancel whenever you like. Email john@insightbeacon.co and it is done — there is nothing to phone about and nobody will try to talk you out of it.

• The month you have already paid for runs to the end of its term, and we keep working through it.
• Any months you prepaid beyond that come back pro rata.
• If you prepaid a year and took the two free months, the refund is worked out at the undiscounted monthly rate. The discount was for a commitment that did not run its course.

Setup fees

Setup fees are not refundable once the work has started. They pay for work that happens at the beginning and cannot be returned once it is done — a site designed and built, a Google profile corrected, a review system set up and connected.

If you change your mind before we have started, tell us and you get all of it back. Ask us where the work stands and we will tell you straight.

The DIY AEO Playbook

The Playbook is not refundable once it has been sent to you. What you are buying is what is in it, and once you have read it you have the thing you paid for. Knowledge does not come back.

It is emailed to you by hand, within one business day. Our payment service cannot attach a file, so a person sends it — which means it is not instant and we would rather say so now than have you refreshing an inbox. If it has not arrived within one business day, email us and we will send it straight away.

So we have tried to make sure you can judge it before you spend anything. The pricing page lists what is in all 29 pages. The free guide covers the same ground at a higher level and costs nothing, and if it is not useful to you the Playbook will not be either. Read that first.

A delivery problem is a different thing. If the file does not arrive, arrives damaged, or is the wrong edition for your trade, tell us and we will fix it or refund it. That is not a change of mind and we will not treat it as one.

The free report

The Local Visibility Report is free, so there is nothing to refund. It stays yours either way.

How a refund reaches you

Refunds go back the way the payment came, to the card or bank account you paid with. They take five to seven business days to settle, which is the figure our payment provider gives us rather than one we have guessed. If you catch us the same day you paid, before 4pm Mountain, we can cancel it outright and no money moves at all. We do not refund to a different account than the one that paid.

The charge will show as “Autobooks” on your statement, not as Insight Beacon — they are the payment service our credit union provides. Worth knowing before you see it and wonder. If a charge you do not recognise appears under that name, it is ours — email us before disputing it with your bank and we will sort it in an hour.

If you think something has gone wrong

Please email us before you call your bank. A chargeback takes weeks, costs us a fee, and freezes the account it came from — and if the complaint is fair, we can simply refund you in a day. We would rather fix it than fight it.

What happens to your website

If we built you a site, what happens to it depends on how long you stayed and whether you buy the code. The website is priced at $2,950 and each paid month credits one 18th of it — $163.89 — so after 18 paid months it is yours at no further charge, and before that you can pay the balance and take it with you. Nothing is switched off while you decide. The terms set out the whole sequence.
