Local search audit
A written report on how your business actually appears to Google, to the map pack, and to AI assistants — and which specific things are costing you customers rather than merely looking untidy.
What it covers
- Your Google Business Profile — categories, completeness, hours, service area, and whether the details match your website exactly.
- Site structure — whether each service has a page that can be the answer to one question, or whether nine services share one page.
- Entity consistency — everywhere your name, address and phone appear, and everywhere they disagree.
- Structured data — what machine-readable information your site publishes, and what it should.
- How AI assistants describe you — what they currently say, and what is causing them to say it.
- Your competitors — specifically, what the ones ranking above you are doing that you are not.
How it is written
Three rules, because an audit that flatters you is worthless.
Every finding cites its source. Not "your categories look wrong" but the specific data, where it came from, and what it means.
Anything unverified is marked unverified. Some things cannot be confirmed from outside your accounts. Those are flagged rather than asserted — publishing a confident wrong number on your website is worse than shipping a day later.
It corrects itself. Our audits have shipped with documented corrections to their own findings. That is not embarrassing, it is the job.
What you receive
A written report listing every finding in priority order, with the exact steps to fix each one and the copy to paste where copy is needed. Plus an explicit section on what the audit did not measure, so you know where the boundary is.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a local search audit take?
Most audits are delivered within a week of starting. Larger sites with many service pages can take longer, and we will say so before starting rather than after.
Do I need to give you access to my accounts?
Not to produce the audit. Some findings — Google Business Profile categories in particular — can only be confirmed inside the authenticated dashboard, so those are marked as needing verification unless you grant access.
What do I actually receive?
A written report listing every finding in priority order, with the exact steps to fix each one, the copy to paste where copy is needed, and a clear statement of what the audit did not measure.
Will you tell me if nothing is wrong?
Yes. If your setup is already sound, the audit will say so and recommend against further work. That happens, and telling you is the whole point of paying for an opinion.
Do you work outside Utah?
Insight Beacon focuses on businesses from Ogden to Provo along the Wasatch Front. Local knowledge matters for local search, and we would rather be genuinely useful in one market.
